In line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision to support scientific excellence and enhance the role of scientific research in serving development priorities, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announced the extension of the applying period for the RESPECT program in its third cycle for the year 2026 until March 31, 2026, to give more researchers the opportunity to submit their research proposals.

The program aims to support senior Egyptian scientists who have received international or governmental awards or prestigious research fellowships to carry out advanced research projects in a number of areas of national priority, including: health and medicine, agriculture and food, energy, water and environment, deepening local manufacturing, electronics, communications and information technology, as well as culture, science and literature, while providing an opportunity for young researchers to participate within research teams.

The program offers funding of up to EGP 3 million for a two-year research project to support innovation and enhance scientific research output.
