In line with Ain Shams University’s commitment to strengthening the role of scientific research and encouraging researchers to participate in prestigious international scientific awards, and under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the university announces an invitation to faculty staff and researchers at its faculties and research centers who meet the nomination criteria to apply for the Fourth Edition of the King Salman International Prize for Disability Research (2026), as announced by the Prize’s General Secretariat.

The prize aims to honor institutions, scientific bodies, and researchers who have made distinguished research contributions with a tangible impact on advancing disability-related fields, thereby improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, supporting scientific innovation, and strengthening research collaboration at both regional and international levels.

Prize Categories

The prize covers five main fields:

• Medical and Health Sciences
• Educational and Psychological Sciences
• Rehabilitation and Social Sciences
• Technological Applications in Disability Fields
• Universal Access

The prize is awarded to scientists, researchers, and institutions that have made outstanding scientific contributions in disability-related fields, provided that the following conditions are met:

• The submitted scientific work must fall within one of the announced prize categories.
• The work must adhere to recognized scientific research methodologies in academic communities.
• The work should demonstrate originality, leadership, and innovation, and provide a clear scientific contribution in the relevant field.
• The submitted work must not have previously received a similar award.
• Previous winners of the prize may not apply again until at least five years have passed and must submit new scientific work different from the previously awarded research.
