Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and under the supervision of Prof. Nasser Abdel Aal, the Egyptian Director of the Confucius Institute, and Prof. Wang Xiaohai, the Chinese Director of the Institute, the final rounds of the Chinese language oratory competition, entitled "Dialogue between Egypt and China... Meeting on the Silk Road... Together towards the future," concluded yesterday, Monday, in the conference hall of the Faculty of Al-Alsun. The young Egyptian contestants studying Chinese language and culture excelled in presenting performances that reflected the depth of their knowledge of the comprehensive strategic relations between Egypt and China in all fields, and delivered speeches full of sincere feelings that reflected the spirit of belonging to the beloved homeland of Egypt, and the spirit of love for China and Chinese culture, determined to continue the journey of study, creativity and innovation on the Silk Road that connects the two countries and the two friendly peoples.
At the end of the competition, the judging panel announced the winners, and Ain Shams University students swept the prizes.
The grand prize was awarded to student Mirhan Ahmed.
First prize was shared by students Youssef Mohamed and Mariam Hatem.
Second prize was shared by students Kenouz Mostafa, Youssef Haggag, and Mohamed Sameh.
Third prize was shared by students Magda Morris, Samira Saeed, Mahmoud Hussein, and Mohamed Soliman.
The final rounds were attended by Egyptian and Chinese professors of Chinese language, students, and guests. Prof. Nasser Abdel-Aal, Prof. Hassanin Fahmy, Prof. Wang Xiaohai, and Dr. Chen Lifan served as moderators.
The final rounds were presented by Rania Saqr, a teaching assistant in the Chinese Language Department, and Mr. Yan Ping, a lecturer at the Confucius Institute.
