Colorful Plates and Antioxidants… A Seminar at the Faculty of Pharmacy to Promote Awareness of Healthy Nutrition and Disease Prevention

As a continuation of the awareness seminar series held within the 2025/2026 cultural season, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University, organized its fourth seminar titled “Colorful Plates: Vibrant Colors for a Vibrant Life… Live Right.” The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Rehab Othman Ahmed, Acting Dean of the Faculty. It was supervised by Prof. Rola Milad Labib, Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

   
   

The seminar was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Yousra Ahmed Trabik, Associate Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, focused on the importance of consuming foods rich in antioxidants and their crucial role in protecting the human body from chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic inflammation, and heart disease. She also highlighted their effectiveness in preventing various types of cancer and maintaining healthy skin and a youthful appearance for longer periods.

The lecture also presented an overview of the most antioxidant-rich fruits, legumes, and vegetables, with clear explanations of their components and the health benefits they provide in prevention and overall human well-being.

Dr. Yousra concluded the lecture by advising attendees to ensure regular consumption of adequate amounts of antioxidant-rich foods to enjoy a healthier life and a longer lifespan free from inflammation, cancer, and chronic diseases.
