An Introductory Seminar on the “Huawei Annual ICT Competition” at Ain Shams University Computers Department

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University and Huawei, the faculty organized an introductory seminar on the “Huawei Annual ICT Competition” and its participation requirements, targeting students from various academic years.

In this regard, Prof. Rasha Ismail, the Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Mona Abdel Azim, Director of the Alumni Unit, welcomed a delegation from Huawei, including Eng. Asmaa Serag, Executive Director of Huawei Academies Egypt, Eng. Amani Sayed, Eng. Mohamed Roshdy, and Eng. Ibrahim Ahmed Saad, responsible for academy development at Huawei.

   
   

The seminar was opened by Eng. Amani Sayed, who provided an overview of Huawei Academies and highlighted how students can benefit from their programs. Abdelrahman Abdel Nasser, a faculty graduate, former Huawei Academy ambassador, and participant in the winning team of the previous edition of the competition, gave a detailed explanation to students about the competition and strategies for success.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Eng. Asmaa Serag encouraged students to take full advantage of all services provided by Huawei to Ain Shams University students.

The seminar included a presentation of the key achievements of Huawei Academy, a detailed explanation of the registration and participation steps in the competition and concluded with a Q&A session where company representatives addressed students’ questions from different academic years.

   
   

Huawei is one of the leading global companies in information and communications technology and annually organizes the Huawei ICT Competition for students worldwide through Huawei Academy, with stages at the local, regional, and global levels.

Notably, a team from the Faculty of Computers and Information at Ain Shams University won first place in the 2025 Huawei ICT Global Final, held in Shenzhen, China, from May 20 to 24, 2024.
