In an annual tradition at Ain Shams University and as part of the university’s celebration of the anniversary of the glorious October War victories, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a visit to the Veterans and War Victims Association. The visit was held under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The delegation included Prof. Heba Shaheen, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, who headed the delegation on behalf of Prof. Ghada Farouk, along with Prof. Howaida El-Gebaly, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Childhood; Prof. Hayam Refaat, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Prof. Mohamed Morsi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business; Prof. Hala Khalaf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education; and Major General Hossam El-Sharbiny, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The delegation was received by Major General Ahmed Hassan Aboshark, Director of the Veterans and War Victims Association, accompanied by several of the association’s senior officials.

He began by delivering a welcoming speech, praising Ain Shams University’s efforts to strengthen communication and cooperation with the association, as evidenced by the university’s commitment to organizing this visit annually. He also reviewed the history of the association, which dates to the 1948 Palestine War, and highlighted the establishment of its headquarters at Al-Wafa Wal-Amal by Mrs. Gehan Sadat prior to the October 1973 War. He explained the association’s objectives, activities, and diverse social, health, cultural, and psychological services, which include support for war casualties, people with disabilities, and the families of martyrs.
A documentary film was also presented, showcasing the association’s activities and history, as well as the heroics of the Egyptian army during the Great Crossing culminating in victory.

The director then accompanied the delegation on an extensive tour, which included visits to the Physical Therapy Center, the Prosthetics and Mobility Aids Workshop, the Disabled Persons Home, the Dialysis Center, and the Ceramics and Leather Workshops.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields between the two sides and a group photo session.
