The event is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health’s Medical Initiatives Unit.

Prof. Ghada Farouk, along with Prof. Hala Suweed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, toured the units participating in the initiative. These include the Early Detection Unit for Breast Cancer, the Early Detection Unit for Other Types of Cancer (Colon and Prostate) and the Chronic Disease and Kidney Disease Screening Unit

Prof. Ghada Farouk emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting early detection and treatment, especially in support of women’s health, by identifying conditions such as breast tumors and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at early stages. She pointed out that these initiatives provide free medical treatment when needed and contribute significantly to raising public awareness. This includes prevention of diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as promoting the importance of regular check-ups to improve overall quality of life.

The initiative is held under the supervision and coordination of Prof. Tamer Madkour, Head of the Health Affairs Sector in Cairo, Dr. Marwa Ali, General Director of the Ain Shams Medical District, Dr. Mayada Sallama, Director of the Initiatives Department, Ain Shams Medical District, and Major General Hossam El-Sherbiny, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service at Ain Shams University
