Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, the Education and Student Affairs Sector, in cooperation with the Tahya Misr Fund, is launching the "Dokan El Farha" (Shop of Joy) initiative under the slogan "Together We Share", with the aim of maximizing support for the university’s students and members through effective collaboration with the Tahya Misr Fund.
This initiative comes within the framework of the university’s new vision, which focuses on openness to the outside world and cooperation with various state institutions to support students—particularly those who are financially disadvantaged, by helping that befits the name, reputation, and pioneering role of Ain Shams University. The initiative targets approximately 8,000 male and female students and includes major participation from both local and international brands, coordinated through the Tahya Misr Fund in support of Ain Shams University students.
It is worth noting that all products will be distributed to students completely free of charge, with each student benefiting from an estimated value of no less than 4,000 EGP. The initiative will also include support for students with disabilities, through the provision of electric wheelchairs and white canes for visually impaired students, all at no cost.
In addition, the Tahya Misr Fund will extend support to university staff, especially workers and laborers, by distributing fresh local meat free of charge. The Fund will also provide special support to orphans, helping them with marriage preparations and supplying them with all necessary home appliances after conducting thorough assessments of their social status by professional social researchers from the Fund, in collaboration with the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
The Dokan El Farha initiative is set to launch in early November and will run for four consecutive days, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, to allow all eligible students to benefit. The initiative will be inaugurated at the Student University City campus in Abbassia, inside the indoor sports hall, with a detailed schedule to be announced to ensure maximum reach to deserving students.
It is also noteworthy that Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, has assigned Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector, to provide all necessary logistical support to host the Tahya Misr Fund and its staff during the Dokan El Farha initiative, and to prepare storage areas to accommodate incoming products from all partners of the Fund and the university.
Meanwhile, the Student Welfare General Administration’s Solidarity Fund, along with the Education and Student Affairs team, is currently working on preparing student databases as of October 1st, in preparation for the launch of the initiative in early November.
