Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, participated in the 35th edition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE 2025) in Sweden. He was accompanied by Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Executive Director of the International Relations and Academic Collaboration Sector, as part of a high-level delegation headed by Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was hosted in the city of Gothenburg, Sweden, from September 10 to 12, with the participation of thousands of higher education leaders, representatives from 900 universities, 1,000 research centers, educational institutions, and universities of applied sciences from around the world.

His Excellency emphasized that the university’s participation reflects its commitment to implementing Egypt’s national strategy aimed at developing the higher education and scientific research system and aligning it with international standards. This aligns with the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt’s Vision 2030, which focus on enhancing the quality of education while supporting the state’s goal of promoting Egyptian education at both regional and international levels.

The President of Ain Shams University also highlighted the university administration’s dedication to expanding cooperation with leading global universities and institutions to exchange knowledge and expertise. He affirmed that Ain Shams University places great importance on partnerships with internationally reputable universities, which is currently being realized through Ain Shams Private University. Partnerships have been signed with the University of Exeter, the University of Essex, and the University of East London in the United Kingdom. He added that work on these partnerships officially began in July 2025 and will be expanded in the future, with the commencement of academic programs at the private university in the next academic year.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen also noted that Ain Shams University is actively striving to enhance its research capabilities through partnerships with globally renowned universities in specialized fields.
