As part of Ain Shams University's efforts to develop its scientific research system, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, chaired the meeting of the University's Annual Conferences Coordination Committee. The meeting was attended by committee members including deans and vice-deans of faculties, as well as Dr. Kamal Obeid, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Rapporteur of the Committee, along with faculty members who are part of the committee.
Prof. Amany Osama began the meeting by welcoming the members and congratulating Prof. Dr. Rasha Ismail on her appointment as Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information. She explained that the aim of the meeting was to coordinate, and review submitted conference proposals, unify scientific research efforts across faculties, and ensure that the conferences deliver tangible benefits to society and align with the university’s long-standing strategy and prestigious status. The schedule of conferences is to be published no later than the 1st of November each year.

She added that conferences would be reviewed to ensure alignment with the university’s mission, to encourage interdisciplinary interaction, and to resolve any issues through consultation with the relevant faculties.
She highlighted that scientific conferences are a cornerstone for the development of the academic and professional community, as they provide a platform for knowledge and experience exchange, encourage research collaboration, enhance the reputation of the organizing entity, and play a vital role in education and professional development.
For his part, Dr. Kamal Obeid, the Committee Rapporteur, emphasized that planning facilitates the organizational tasks of conferences, saves time and effort, and helps in setting a cost-effective budget for events. He also pointed out that sponsorship systems can be arranged for each conference and stressed the need to form a committee to follow up on conference outcomes.
This meeting followed the University Council’s approval of the proposed guide presented by the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, which represents a new policy for organizing annual conferences at Ain Shams University. At the conclusion of the meeting, all inquiries from committee members were addressed.
