The Egyptian Center for the International Institute for Distance Learning at Ain Shams University wins the 2025 Higher Education Digitization Leadership Award

The team working at the Egyptian Center for the International Institute for Distance Education (EIDE), based at the Center for the Development of Educational Strategies and Research at Ain Shams University, won the UNESCO-ICHEI Digitalization Pioneer Case Award 2025, presented by the UNESCO-ICHEI International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (ICHEI), for the project "Promoting Excellence in Digital Transformation in Education" in the category of the Role of IIOE National Centers in Enabling Digital Teaching and Learning.

The award was received by Prof. Mona Abdel Aal El-Zahry, Director of the Center for the Development of Educational Strategies and Research, Director of the Egyptian Center for the International Institute for Distance Education, and Head of the Project Team.

The working team included Dr. Dalia Youssef, Director of the Central Unit for E-Learning and Deputy Director of the Egyptian Center for the International Institute for Distance Education; Prof. Hany Youssef, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Education and Student Affairs and Head of the Training Department at the Central Unit for E-Learning; and Prof. Doaa Anas, Director of the E-Learning Unit at the Faculty of Engineering and a member of the Central Unit for E-Learning.

It's worth noting that the UNESCO-ICHEI Digitalization Pioneer Case Award 2025 aims to support innovative projects with impact in the field of digital transformation in higher education. Ninety-five projects from 29 countries, including 48 higher education institutions and 13 educational technology companies, applied for the award.
