Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, in a move that reflects international appreciation for the Faculty of Al-Alsun's pioneering role in teaching the Korean language and spreading Korean culture in the Middle East, the King Sejong Foundation in South Korea announced the selection of the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University to establish a branch of the institute in Cairo for the year 2025, among 11 branches worldwide.
This announcement was made by Prof. Salwa Rashad, Dean of the Faculty, who received the accreditation certificate for the establishment of the institute at the Faculty of Al-Alsun during the annual conference organized by the King Sejong Foundation in South Korea, among representatives of the institutions selected this year to establish new King Sejong Institutes around the world.
Prof. Salwa Rashad said that this step is the culmination of years of academic efforts and cultural cooperation between the Faculty of Languages at Ain Shams University and Korean institutions. The Korean Language Department at the Faculty of Languages is the first department specializing in teaching Korean in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa.
