“Innovate for Impact” Business Plan Competition at Ain Shams University

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and under the supervision of Prof. Diaa Khalil, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Principal Investigator of the ISI4Egypt project, the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector at Ain Shams University is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the ”Innovate for Impact" business plan”competition.

This competition reflects Ain Sham” University’s commitment to supporting innovation policies and applied scientific research, and to reinforcing its role as a key driver of sustainable development and a knowledge-based economy. The Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector aims to empower young researchers to transform their innovative ideas into practical solutions with clear social and economic impact, thereby enhancing the university’s position as a leading platform for academic and research excellence and entrepreneurship.

The “Innovate for Impact” Business Plan Competition is part of the Innovation Solutions for Industry 4.0 in Egypt (ISI4E) project, and is o”en to faculty members and their young assistants under the age of 35.

The following are the award conditions and benefits:

A fully funded seat to attend the Summer School in Berlin.

Certificate of appreciation for the winning participants.

An opportunity to present the project idea before a distinguished group of international industry partners in the German capital.

Evaluation criteria: Submitted scientific posters and business plans will be evaluated based on:
Originality and relevance of the idea to Industry 4.0 and sustainability fields.
Clarity, feasibility, and scalability of the proposed solution.
Alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Innovation in both scientific and business approaches.
Potential economic or environmental impact at the local or regional level.
The evaluation process will be overseen by a multidisciplinary jury composed of representatives from TU Berlin, Ain Shams University, and several industry partners.
