Prof. Mona Hafez, Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, explained that bullying is a repeated aggressive behavior aimed at harming another person physically, psychologically, or socially. It often occurs due to a power imbalance between the bully and the victim. She also noted that bullying takes many forms, such as insults, ridicule, violence, isolation, or cyberbullying.

She also highlighted the serious negative effects of bullying on the mental health of victims, such as anxiety, loss of self-confidence, and depression, as well as its impact on academic achievement and ability to work.

She emphasized the need to foster an environment based on respect and tolerance and encourage reporting of such behavior to reduce its incidence.
