Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, the faculty's team qualified for the round of 16 in the International Moot Court Competition in Media Law, which will be held at Oxford University in the UK from April 21 to 25, 2025. The team qualified after competing in three competitions against teams from India, China, and Ireland.
Teams from around the world participate in the competition, qualifying for the finals in Oxford through regional qualifiers held in six regions around the world. More than 100 teams from around the world participated, and the competition was judged by academics, judges, and lawyers from around the world. The Faculty of Law team at Ain Shams University qualified for the international competition after winning first place in the Middle East regional qualifiers.

The faculty team is competing in the quarterfinals today. The team consists of students from the English department at the faculty: Mohamed Wael - second year, Ahla Emad - third year, Duaa Ali - third year, Farah Bassem - fourth year, Karim Madin - fourth year, Karim Maged - fourth year. The team was coached by Reem Jamea - fourth year, and Reem El Shazly - a postgraduate student.
In this context, Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty, appreciated the direct sponsorship of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, for the student team, and the esteemed Public Prosecution Authority, which contributed to their training and honing their talents, especially just before their travel by holding several training workshops for them in English. He also thanked Prof. Mohamed El Shafei, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Prof. Yassin El Shazly, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research, for their support of student activities at the faculty. His Excellency also congratulated the faculty team and their accompanying coach in the qualifiers, Prof. Ahmed Dehoum, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, for the honorable representation of the Faculty and the University.
