
• A scientific, professional, administrative and leadership character who has presented since the beginning of his scientific and practical life and is still providing a lot for researchers, the Egyptian economy, and Egyptian citizens in general... He is the son of Ain Shams University, Professor Dr. Hussein Essa.
• Dr. Hussein Essa, Former President of Ain Shams University, was born in 1956. He began his scientific career, proving unparalleled excellence, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business, accounting division in 1977 with a very good general grade with honors, to get well-deserved first place over his colleagues at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, which qualified him to be a teaching assistant at the department of accounting and auditing at the Faculty of Business “Ain Shams University” during the period from 1977 to 1986, to obtain a master’s degree and become an assistant teacher in the accounting and auditing Department at the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University 1986-1992.
• This excellence and perseverance gave him the opportunity to obtain a doctorate in accounting from the United States International University "San Diego - California in 1992". On his return to his homeland, he became a teacher in the Accounting and Auditing Department at the Faculty of Business "Ain Shams University" 1993-1998, then he was promoted to become an assistant professor in the department Accounting and Auditing, Faculty of Business 1999-2005, then Professor, Department of Accounting and Auditing, Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, 2005.

• From here, the scientific and administrative progression began at Ain Shams University, where Prof. Hussein Issa became Head of the Department of Economics, Law and Administration at the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research at Ain Shams University 2005-2007, then the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs - Faculty of Business - Ain Shams University 1/8 /2006 - 3/7/2007, and then the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs - Faculty of Business - Ain Shams University 4/7/2007 - 9/22/2007, until he was chosen as Dean of the Faculty of Business - Ain Shams University 9/22/2007 - 4/10/2011, but during this period he was the supervisor of the Accounting and Auditing Department in 2009, as well as the supervisor of the Department of Statistics, Sports and Insurance 1/8/2008 until 25/5/2011, in addition to his supervision of the Education and Student Affairs Sector at Ain Shams University 1/8/2011 to 4/10/2011
• His competence, eligibility, and wise management qualified him to be re-elected as Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ain Shams University, 11/15/2011 until 1/1/2012, then Vice President of Ain Shams University for Education and Student Affairs 1/19/2012.
• Prof. Hussein Eissa served as President of Ain Shams University from 2011 to 2015. At the end of the same year, a presidential decree was issued appointing him among the 5% presidential appointees to the new House of Representatives by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, where he was selected as Chairman of the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee.
• The Federation of Egyptian Industries also issued a decision appointing Professor Dr. Hussein Eissa as Economic Affairs Advisor to the Federation. He was also selected as a member of the Coordinating Council responsible for establishing mechanisms to coordinate between the Central Bank’s monetary policy and the government’s fiscal policy, a council that submits an annual report on its activities to the President of the Republic.
• Despite his extensive responsibilities, Professor Dr. Hussein Eissa maintained a strong focus on scientific research, enriching both Arab and international libraries with numerous books and research papers in the fields of managerial accounting, cost management systems, and computer applications. He supervised more than 70 master’s and doctoral theses and held memberships in international professional associations, including the American Accounting Association and the Institute of Management Accountants in the United States. He also participated in numerous international conferences and scientific missions in Washington, New York, Boston, and San Francisco.
• A presidential decree was also issued in 2026 appointing Professor Dr. Hussein Eissa as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
• On the governmental and advisory level, Dr. Hussein Eissa held several key positions, including Coordinator of the Specialized Council for Economic Development affiliated with the Presidency of the Republic, Head of the Technical Secretariat for the Restructuring of Economic Authorities, and Advisor to the Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Economic Authorities Affairs. He also served as a member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council and the Coordinating Council for Fiscal and Monetary Policies.
• Dr. Hussein Eissa’s contributions also extended to membership on the boards of major financial institutions, including the National Investment Bank, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, and the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport. He also served as Non-Executive Chairman of VACSERA for Vaccines and Sera, Non-Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Company for Sovereign Sukuk, and Advisor to the Federation of Egyptian Industries for Financial and Economic Affairs.

• Dr. Hussein Essa has many published books, including, but not limited to, recent trends in management accounting, studies in cost management systems, accounting information systems - a strategic approach, activity cost accounting, studies in computer applications, studies in behavioral accounting, and business studies in English.
• Dr. Essa has membership in many scientific and professional associations, including the American Accounting Association - Management Accounting Division - United States, Institute of Management Accountants - United States, Egyptian Association for Accounting, Systems and Auditing Arab Republic of Egypt, Egyptian Association of Accountants and Auditors - Arab Republic of Egypt, and Member of the Silk Road Studies and Research Center, Ain Shams University.
