Ain Shams University advances in the QS World classification of university specializations for the year 2024

Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced the emergence of the results of the QS World classification of university specialization for the year 2024, where 13 Egyptian universities were included in this classification, and the classification includes the ranking of the best 15,559 universities in the world, the core majors included five sectors of science (arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences and medicine, natural sciences, social sciences, and management), and more than 90 minors.

The Minister also stated that this year's classification witnessed the emergence of Egyptian universities in 38 specializations, an increase of 4 specializations compared to last year.

Ain Shams University was able to achieve progress in the QS World classification of university specializations for the year 2024, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of the University, and Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University, where Ain Shams University achieved in four general areas out of five the following:

- In the field of life sciences and medicine: Ain Shams University ranked (314) globally.

- In the field of engineering and technology: Ain Shams University ranked 278 globally.

- In the field of natural sciences, Ain Shams University ranked (401-450)

- In the field of social sciences and management: Ain Shams University ranked (501-550) globally.

Regarding the subspecialties, Ain University achieved a ranking in 14 subspecialties, which are:

- In the field of medicine: Ain Shams University ranked (251-300) globally.

- In the field of biological sciences: Ain Shams University achieved position (301-350) globally.

- In the field of agriculture and forestry: Ain Shams University ranked (251-300) globally.

- In the field of chemistry: Ain Shams University ranked (351-400) globally.

- In the field of computer science and information systems: Ain Shams University ranked (351-400) globally.

- In the field of chemical engineering: Ain Shams University ranked (401-430) globally.

- In the field of mechanical engineering: Ain Shams University ranked (301-350) globally.

It is noteworthy that the (QS) World classification depends on four indicators: the academic reputation of the specialization offered by the program, the reputation of graduates, the volume of citations from research and the network of published research among researchers belonging to more than one country. There is a continuous increase in the number of Egyptian universities included in the various classifications.
