A free workshop entitled “CV Writing Skills” at the Faculty of Arts

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Hanan Kamel, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, at Ain Shams University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized a free workshop for students and graduates entitled “CV writing skills,” under the supervision of Prof. Hanan Salem, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and coordinated by Dr. Maram Al-Wasimi, Director of the Graduate Follow-up Unit, presented the workshop by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sadawi, a lecturer in the Library and Information Department at the Faculty.

The workshop was opened by Dr. Maram Al-Wasimi, who initially thanked His Excellency the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Hanan Kamel for the efforts and services she provides and for providing the opportunity for students and graduates to develop their skills, increase their experience, and help them in their professional lives. She explained that the motive behind preparing the free workshop is to raise the skills of Faculty of Arts students and graduates to benefit them in the labor market.

The workshop covered many topics that help students and graduates develop their skills in writing a CV. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sadawi, a lecturer in the Library and Information Department, asked several questions at the beginning of the workshop about the definition of the CV and its importance, the types of CV, the difference between a CV and a Resume, and how to write a CV. He also explained some tips for writing a professional CV as well as mistakes when writing a CV.

He pointed to the best sites for creating and designing a professional CV, stressing that the job seeker must highlight everything related to his academic certificates, professional experience, potential, and abilities in a logical manner and a clear chronological sequence, mentioning the most important features that qualify him to obtain this job over other competing applicants for this job. He also stated that one of the most important tips for writing a CV is to check the spelling first and last, and he also mentioned the most important points that it is not preferable to write in the CV unless requested.

At the end of the workshop, the students and graduates were keen to take souvenir photos that demonstrated their happiness and benefit from developing their skills.
