The Heart, Thoracic, and Vascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital at Ain Shams University Hospitals received the British medical team specializing in aortic surgeries, sponsored by Prof. Mohamed Diaa, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Ali Al-Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals.

The first meeting was held after the arrival of the British medical team from Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, led by Dr. Ulrich Rosendahl, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Clinical Head of the Aortic Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital. The reception meeting was attended by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, former president of Ain Shams University, Prof. Tarek Youssef, Executive Director of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and Prof. Muhammad Al-Ghannam, Director of the Heart, Thoracic and Vascular Diseases and Surgery Hospital.

         
   
         

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini explained in his speech during the meeting that he was very happy with the success of that protocol, as he is closely following the progress of its implementation with pride and pride, stressing that this cooperation increases the acquisition of experience on both sides. He continued by thanking all those working for the success of the protocol, hoping that it would continue for longer periods even after the expiration of the term of the protocol.

The meeting also included a review of the cases that were discussed during the previous month in the aortic preparatory clinic in the hospital’s outpatient clinics, and they were discussed with the British medical team during the reception meeting in preparation for performing these operations, as the visit is scheduled to include performing several surgical operations on the aorta and catheters, in cooperation between the Egyptian medical team and the visiting British team from Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.

   
   

The visit period to perform these operations is scheduled to continue until the end of this week, on the sidelines of the cooperation protocol signed between Ain Shams University Hospitals and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, the world leader in the field of cardiology - in London.

Dr. Mustafa Gamal, Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery and Deputy Director of the Hospital for Medical Affairs, and Prof. Mohamed Gamal, Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery.
