The Faculty of Medicine and Leuven University Hospital in Belgium sign a joint cooperation protocol in the field of training in microsurgical interventions in fetuses

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital affiliated with Ain Shams University Hospitals witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol with the Faculty of Medicine and Ain Shams University Hospitals and between Leuven University Hospital in Belgium on Tuesday 10/4/2023, for training in the field of precise surgical intervention in fetal medicine. The protocol aims to enhance Ways of cooperation and training in treating problems of monochromic twins and performing surgical and endoscopic interventions for fetuses.

The University of Leuven in Belgium was represented by Professor Jan Depreest, “founder of the European Fetal Union,” who designed a wide range of microsurgical machines for fetuses and placentas, which are now used all over the world, in addition to Professor Lesbes Lewy, a pioneer in providing medical care for twins and head of the Twin Clinic at the University Hospital Leuven.
