The international engineer Mohamed Gawdat presents an equation for happiness at the 11th Annual Ain Shams University International Conference

The proceedings of the dialogue session, which was moderated by Prof. Ayman Saleh, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, hosted the Egyptian international engineer, Mohamed Gawdat, and was held within the activities of the second day of the 11th Annual Ain Shams University International Conference, which was launched yesterday under the title "Knowledge Economy... For Better Life".

Prof. Ayman Saleh, Chairman of the Conference and Moderator of the session, introduced Engineer Mohamed Gawdat, founder of “One Billion Happy” in the United States of America, former Chief Business Officer of Google X, and author of the book Solve for Happy: Engineering Your Path to Joy, which was published in 2017, and the "Scary Smart" book and other books.

The dialogue session dealt with talking about success without intermediaries, and Eng. Mohamed Jawdat emphasized that success depends on the desire to achieve it, adapting to the surrounding circumstances, and employing them in favor of achieving the goals that each person seeks.

The dialogue touched on talking about the means of success, and the engineer, Mohamed Jawdat, indicated the need to invest in the mind as we invest in the body, and stressed the importance of reading, stressing that spending one hour a day on something useful or reading or learning something useful can change the life of an individual and that spending 10 Thousands of hours learning something useful that achieves results and a big change for the better and makes a difference in the life of those who follow this method.

Engineer Mohamed Gawdat also gave advice to young people who are about to enter the working life and how they can successfully enter the fields of entrepreneurship, as he said, "It is better to be an employer who solves an urgent problem for people." and the goal you are trying to achieve.

He talked about his famous book, Scary Smart, and what he covered in the book about the dangers of artificial intelligence and its impact on the life and future of people. He also talked about the One Billion Happy Foundation, the perspective of happiness and the steps to achieve satisfaction.

He reviewed his equation for happiness, saying: Happiness is equal to the difference between the events of your life and your expectations (happiness = the events of your life - your expectations).
