The Dean of the Faculty of Law honors the team participating in the Oxford University mock trial competition

Prof. Mohamed Safi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, at Ain Shams University, honored the distinguished group of male and female students who participated in the regional qualifiers for the Middle East region for the Oxford University mock trial competition in the field of media law.

The participating team, on behalf of the university, has qualified for the international tournament that will take place in Oxford in mid-April 2023. It is worth noting that the Ain Shams University team is the only team in the Middle East that has consistently qualified for the international finals of the (Price) competition, since the beginning of the participation of Middle Eastern universities teams in the international competition in 2013 until now.

The team consisted of Maryam Muhammad Talal Ali Asaad Al-Saleh (Fourth Year, English Division), Seif El-Din Ahmed Al-Samman Mahmoud (Fourth Year, English Division), Ahmed Ihab Ahmed Medhat Abdel-Hadi (Third Year, English Division), Cinderella Muntaser Hussein Salem (Second Year, English Division). English), Hajar Ali Ibrahim Ali (Second Year, English Division), Rona Wael Al-Sayed Hassan Abu Al-Wafa (Second Year, Arabic Division), Maryam Muhammad Talal Ali Asaad Al Saleh - (Fourth Year, English Division).

The team was trained by Reem Osama Abdel-Fattah Ahmed El-Shazly (Diploma in Criminal Law) and Mirna Hassan Ahmed Ghobashi (Fourth Year- English Division).

The selection of the participating team was in the name of the university and their coach, and the team has worked since last October under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Fathi Khalifa, Director of the Faculty’s International Cooperation Office.

The Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University, in partnership with the University of Oxford, organized the regional qualifiers for the Middle East from March 9 to 13, with the participation of more than ten teams from five countries of the Middle East. The competition was judged by more than thirty judges from Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, France, India, and China.

Organizing and participating in these activities comes within the framework of the faculty administration’s vision and its serious endeavor towards developing the educational process to ensure linking theoretical study in the faculty with practical reality on the one hand, and in a way, that enhances students’ skills to make them qualified for the labor market after graduation.
