The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector visited the Martyr Ahmed Shawky Hospital for Geriatrics in Demerdash

Prof. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development, participated in the visit organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Ain Shams University, on Monday, February 20, to the Martyr Eng. Ahmed Shawky Hospital for Geriatric Medicine affiliated to the University Hospitals (Al-Demerdash), in cooperation with the Family for Central Egypt, to raise the morale of the patients, and to present them with some gifts.

The visit was witnessed by Prof. Jehan Ragab, Advisor to the Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and the visit coordinator, Prof. Hala Sweid, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Samia Abdo, Deputy Executive Director of Hospitals and Prof. Mohamed Mortada, Director of Martyr Ahmed Shawky Hospital, Prof. Manar Mostafa Adel, Head of Geriatrics Department, and members of the National Council for Women, Cairo Branch.

The visit took place under the supervision of Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, during which some gifts were distributed to the patients, and their conditions were checked. Also, the attendees praised the cleanliness of the hospital, its system, the services provided, and the attention paid to patients.

The Geriatrics Hospital at Ain Shams University is the first university hospital of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East specialized in the medicine and treatment of elderly people of all categories. The hospital is supervised by a group of faculty staff in geriatric medicine at Ain Shams University.

The hospital is also a pioneer at the scientific, research and academic level. It has an inpatient department, intermediate care, intensive care, a cognitive and functional rehabilitation unit, and outpatient clinics that receive patients daily.
