Ain Shams University occupies the third place in the "US NEWS" global classification for the year 2022/2023 at the level of Egyptian universities

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received a report on the inclusion of 19 Egyptian universities in the "US NEWS" classification for 2022/2023, among the 2000 best international universities.

The report showed that Cairo University ranked first at the level of Egyptian universities in the rank (363), followed by Mansoura University in the 447th place, then Ain Shams University (540), Alexandria University (611), followed by Kafr El-Sheikh University (639), followed by Zagazig University (661), Assiut University (710), Al-Azhar University (739), Suez Canal University (807), Tanta University (835), Menoufia University (928), Benha University (943), followed by University of Minya (948), then Beni Suef University (959), followed by Fayoum University (977), Helwan University (1085), Sohag University (1095), South Valley University (1243), and Aswan University (1317).

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, the media advisor and official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the US NEWS global ranking is one of the important global rankings for universities, and uses 13 indicators to measure the performance of universities, including the global research reputation index (12.5%), the regional research reputation index (12.5%), publishing ( 10%), books (2.5%), conferences (2.5%), citation impact rate (10%), total citations (7.5%), number of publications that are among the top 10% of citations (12.5%), percentage of total Publications that are in the top 10% of citations (10%), international collaborations (5%), number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% of papers cited in their field (5%), the percentage of all publications that rank among the top 1% of research papers (5%).
