The Minister of Higher Education reviews a report on educational and technological cooperation mechanisms with China

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Deputy Minister for University Affairs, about the meeting held with Mr. Wang Shenggang, Minister Plenipotentiary in the Educational and Scientific Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cairo, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Hayawi, Advisor to the Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Esraa Abdel Sayed, Director of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University; In order to discuss mechanisms of educational and technological cooperation between Egypt and China.

During the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour reviewed the measures that have been taken to develop higher education and scientific research in the field of expanding the establishment of public, private and technological universities, and new (international) study programs that keep pace with the needs of the local and international labor market, thus contributing to placing Egyptian universities at the level of major universities.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Hayawi pointed out the new technological universities whose establishment has been completed and work is under way to equip them; In preparation for the start of study there, as well as the new disciplines to be taught in these universities, explaining that it is planned to establish a technological university in the industrial zone of the Suez Canal that includes new disciplines such as (ship industry - train industry - aircraft industry).

The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation between Egyptian technological universities and their counterparts in China. With the aim of strengthening cooperation in the field of vocational and technological education between Egypt and China, in addition to mechanisms for activating the role of “Le Pen’s workshop” in this field, as well as ways to advance the development of Chinese language education, in addition to the possibility of establishing links for university majors between Egypt and China, such as: links for university majors in agriculture Medicine, machinery industry, information technology, and others, as well as specialized cooperation in the fields of agriculture and medicine, including agricultural technology, fish and animal farming, and cooperative hospitals.

For his part, Wang Sheng affirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with Egypt within the framework of the new major programs and procedures. With the aim of strengthening Chinese-Egyptian cooperation, as well as exchanging experiences in the field of education; To deepen communication in educational policies and enhance educational cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the possibility of cooperation in the field of e-learning, especially technological, by contributing to the establishment of online study platforms and smart classrooms.
