Laying the foundation stone of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University

The university president laid the foundation stone of the Confucius Institute in presence of Vice Minister of Education of the State of China, Deputy Chinese Ambassador to China, and Director of Confucius Institute at the University and Secretary General of the University.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat stressed the depth of the international relations that bind the two countries, especially for what distinguishes the Egyptian and Chinese people from their belonging to the oldest civilizations in history.

He expressed his hope that the Confucius Institute of the University will be the purpose of spreading the Chinese language and achieving better communication between the two peoples in various fields.

Ms. Liu Yong Feng stressed the Chinese government's interest in cooperation and communication with Egypt, the government and the people. She pointed out that the establishment of this institute will play a prominent role in the start of learning the Chinese language. She noted that she had previously participated in the celebration of the Department of Chinese Language, to the outstanding level of the students of the department.

She expressed her great happiness at this historic day to lay the cornerstone of the Confucius Institute at Ain Shams University.

Prof. Dr. Esraa Abdel-Sayed pointed out that laying the cornerstone of the Confucius Institute is the dream that has become a reality thanks to the continuous efforts of the university administration over the past years to support the spread of cooperation. She added that a land area of 3200 square meters has been allocated to the institute and its intention to spread the Chinese language. The establishment of the Chinese language department and the graduation of thousands of students at a high level and distinguished by the certificate of Chinese cultural leaders.

The students also made a number of Chinese-language musical shows amid the praise and interaction of the Chinese delegation.
