Within the framework of Ain Shams University's preparations to confront the potential developments of the Coronavirus pandemic, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of the University, tasked the various university sectors with developing a plan to manage the situation from its various medical, educational and environmental aspects. The medical plan and the environment included increasing awareness campaigns within the university that started from the beginning of the second semester by increasing the number of medical teams specialized in awareness campaigns to 6 teams to spread health awareness among students, faculty members and university workers, starting from Monday 3/9/2020, in coordination between the hospital infection control team, the General Administration of Medical Affairs team, the infection control team at Ain Shams Specialized Hospital and the intensive care and chest specialist sent from departments of the College of Medicine to participate in awareness-raising with setting a schedule for implementing a number of seminars and workshops to raise awareness of all colleges and institutes of the university. The university took a number of the procedures, including:
• Immediate contracting with companies specialized in sterilization working to apply the latest sterilization methods to disinfect all university facilities from classrooms, runways, exam halls, administrative offices and service places.
• Preparing clinics and medical centers and providing the required supplies.
• Ensuring a mechanism for transferring and transferring suspected cases with an ambulance designated for the transfer of suspected cases.
• Follow-up of suspected cases by conducting all necessary analyzes in the laboratories of the Ministry of Health, provided that the case is transferred after that to isolation in designated hospitals.
