Sustainable development, environmental protection and green economy…Training courses in Faculty of Graduate Studies

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President for Community Affairs and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Noha Donia, Dean of the Graduate School of Environmental Research, and within the framework of the protocol signed between the Graduate School of Environmental Research and the Ministry of Environment to train a group of different ministries, private universities and graduate students in the areas of sustainable development, rationalization of energy and water consumption, environmental protection and green economy at the Faculty of Environmental Studies and Research. The course activities began with the training of a group of preachers and directors of departments at the Ministry of Endowment, as well as some technicians and administrators from the Ministry of Transport. Several seminars were delivered on environmental protection from water pollution, new and renewable energy and integrated waste management, environmental protection from air pollution and how to preserve it, and exhaust measurements for different cars were made using monitoring devices.

         
   
         

This is in addition to giving a number of lectures on pollution, the water crisis in Egypt, the role of advocates in preserving the environment, strategic planning and the health effects of environmental problems, in addition to learning about environmental protection laws, rationalizing energy consumption, the role of maintenance in reducing pollution, and environmental economics.

In addition to lectures in the transportation sector and the effects of the environment, the health effects of air pollution, diesel and petrol car exhaust testing devices, behavior management and environmental preservation, as well as a workshop on waste management through “Shams Be green” project and identifying the face of negative behaviors towards the environment, and the activities concluded with a workshop in environmental awareness to preserve the environment.
