Admission Requirements:

The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Entomology, Entomology/Chemistry, Medical Entomology, or Pesticides from Faculties of Science or Agriculture at Egyptian universities, or any other related specialization approved by the department council. Equivalent degrees from recognized institutions inside or outside Egypt may also be accepted according to the Supreme Council of Universities regulations.

Program Duration:

Master’s degree: minimum 1 year and maximum 7 years

Credit Hours:

Master’s degree: 48 credit hours (24 coursework + 24 thesis/research)

Program Advantages:

• This program contributes to achieving sustainability and food security through the control of agricultural, medical, and stored-product pests. It aims to reduce agricultural losses and protect human and animal health. It also addresses pesticide resistance by studying mechanisms of insect resistance and developing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. In addition, it focuses on reducing environmental and health risks by evaluating pesticide impacts and minimizing residues in food, soil, and water while protecting beneficial organisms such as bees and natural enemies.

Skills Acquired by Graduates:

• Development of strategic pest management plans to overcome resistance through rotation of control methods with different modes of action. Strong research and biostatistical skills, including the use of advanced statistical software for mortality analysis and comparison of means, as well as academic writing and international scientific publishing.
