2026-07-06Admission Requirements:
The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Geophysics or Petroleum Geophysics from one of the Faculties of Science at Egyptian universities, or an equivalent degree from another recognized scientific institute approved by the Supreme Council of Universities. The program board and faculty council, based on the recommendation of the main supervisor and the supervisory committee, may require the student to take additional preparatory courses at the Master’s or Bachelor’s level to address any academic gaps, up to a maximum of 12 credit hours. The student is not allowed to submit the thesis before successfully completing these courses with a minimum grade of (C+ / 2.67). If the required GPA is not achieved, the supervisor may allow the student to retake up to two courses to improve the grade. Additional advanced-level (600-level) courses in the specialization may also be recommended to improve the GPA.
