2026-07-06Admission Requirements:
In addition to the general postgraduate admission requirements of the regulations, the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Chemistry or Chemistry with one of the double specializations from Egyptian universities, or an equivalent degree recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities. The Faculty Council, upon approval of the Board of Administration, may accept applicants with a lower GPA than that stated in the previous clause, provided they have completed a postgraduate diploma in Chemistry or a related specialization with a grade of “Very Good” or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 from a Faculty of Science or a recognized institute.
Applicants from other faculties or from modern interdisciplinary programs combining chemistry and biology may also be accepted. Candidates must pass admission tests prepared by the program board to assess their ability to successfully continue postgraduate studies. The program board may also require additional bridging courses not exceeding 6 credit hours. Study is conducted at least two days per week on campus, with additional external training days if required.

Master’s degree: 48 credit hours (24 coursework + 24 research and thesis)
Program Advantages:
The program is highly significant, particularly in the legal and forensic system. Professionals working in criminal investigation and forensic medicine—especially those in forensic authorities and criminal evidence departments—handle evidence with strong scientific principles. Although much of forensic work is related to criminal cases, it may also apply to civil cases. The program focuses on crime scene investigation, evidence collection, and scientific analysis to support investigations and determine events accurately. It is strongly based on physical sciences and covers comprehensive analytical and forensic studies.
Skills Acquired by Graduates:
• Development of advanced knowledge of analytical laboratory techniques used in criminal investigation and forensic science.
• Ability to select appropriate analytical methods for forensic investigations.
• Proficiency in using advanced analytical instruments for evidentiary standards.
• Strong foundational knowledge of forensic science, including crime scene investigation, firearms and pattern comparison, genetics, molecular biology, forensic chemistry, and forensic toxicology.
• Competence in forensic chemistry techniques, data collection, and interpretation.
• Ability to make logical and ethical decisions and report results with integrity.
• Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms in scientific and courtroom settings.
