Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Submit a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 450, issued by an accredited and recognized academic centre.

• Hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biochemistry (General or Specialized), or a Bachelor of Science degree in one of the Biological Sciences (single-major or double-major programs), provided that the applicant has successfully completed at least 8 theoretical credit hours in Biochemistry.

The Diploma in Nutritional Biochemistry offers an integrated curriculum that combines Biochemistry, Applied Nutrition, and Food Safety. The program includes extensive laboratory and practical training to prepare graduates for professional practice and enhance their applied skills.

Students gain insight into current trends in nutrition science, including genetically modified foods (GMOs), while exploring the relationships between nutrition, disease prevention, public health, and quality of life. The diploma also provides an excellent foundation for pursuing postgraduate studies and conducting research in nutrition-related disciplines.

Skills Acquired by Graduates

• Qualify for registration as a Nutrition Specialist with the Scientific Professions Syndicate.

• Demonstrate the scientific knowledge and professional competencies required to enter the nutrition and food sectors.

• Work in the fields of clinical nutrition and nutritional counselling within hospitals and healthcare institutions.

• Participate in food quality control and public health inspection activities in laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Supply, and Ministry of Environment.
