Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Sciences (Marketing & International Trade Program)

Applicants must hold a Research Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities. The period since obtaining the master’s degree must not exceed ten years. Applicants must enroll in the same specialization as their master’s degree within the same department. If applying from a different specialization, they must complete at least 30 credit units from master’s-level courses in the new specialization with a minimum GPA of 2.7 (Very Good), in addition to PhD coursework.

• Addresses issues of economic and agricultural development, food and agricultural policies, feasibility studies for agricultural projects, agricultural business management, sustainable use of limited agricultural resources, and challenges related to climate change. These studies are essential in addressing regional challenges such as population growth, increasing food demand, water scarcity, unfavorable climatic conditions, and geopolitical and security risks affecting the Arab region.
The program features a strong curriculum aligned with modern developments in agricultural economics and promotes interdisciplinary studies with other departments within the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Environmental Studies at Ain Shams University. It includes a distinguished group of faculty members with extensive experience in teaching, research, and international and local consultancy.
It supports interdisciplinary integration across faculties to better connect academic work with societal needs and development plans.
Responds to the increasing demand for professionals capable of analyzing markets for agricultural resources and related industries such as fertilizers, plant nutrients, seeds, and pesticides, and managing them effectively.
Enhances students’ ability to work with modern information systems, data collection, analysis, and preparation of specialized scientific reports, ensuring strong readiness for the labor market.
