Ain Shams University celebrates the International Day of the Disabled

In the framework of Ain Shams University's interest in supporting, empowering and caring for its sons with special abilities, the Faculty of Postgraduate studies for Childhood and the Center of People with Special Needs held a celebration in conjunction with the International Day of the Disabled. Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Ezzat, the University President, Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Prof. Dr. Howaida Al-Gabali, Dean of the Faculty opened the Ceremony. The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Behairy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Alkahki Director of the Center for the care of people with special needs, Mr. Baha El Din Ahmed Abdel Khalek, Assistant Secretary General of the National Council for Disability in the Council of Ministers. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee, Mrs. Soha Abdel Galil, President of the Rotary Club Heliopolis and a number of interested individuals with special abilities from charities, civil society and university professors.

The ceremony included a documentary film about the activities of the Center for People with Special Needs and its units, which have more than 28 specialized units, all of which provide a symbolic fee to the public, as well as the activities offered by the ministry to the disabled, as well as recreational activities for children attending the center.

At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Ezzat honored some illustrious models of the owners of special abilities, including Raymonda Abbas, a student of the first stage of the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, Shehab El-din Adel, student of the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, Rahma Khalid a graduate of the Al-Alsun Institute for Tourism and Hotels and a number of providers of services for people with special abilities from civil society.
