PhD in Arts (Sociology)

To enroll in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program, the applicant must hold a Master of Arts degree with at least a “Good” grade from one of the Egyptian universities, or an equivalent degree from another academic institution recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities.
The minimum number of students required to open the program is 3 students.

One academic semester, with the semester lasting 15 weeks, including a total of 5 courses (12 credit hours).
Total Credit Hours for the Program:
12 credit hours for the preliminary year.
Skills Acquired by Program Graduates:
• Acquiring skills in designing and developing social field research tools (such as questionnaires and in-depth interviews) to assess community needs.
• The ability to conduct social surveys and analyze demographic indicators to evaluate local community phenomena.
• Developing participant observation skills and qualitative analysis of emerging behavioral phenomena in digital and real-life environments.
• The ability to design developmental intervention plans and programs to address social issues (such as poverty, unemployment, and family disintegration).
• Acquiring skills in formulating social policies and providing evidence-based scientific recommendations for decision-makers.
• Developing skills in designing social empowerment programs for women, youth, and the most vulnerable groups in society.
