Master’s in Science – Applied and Analytical Microbiology Specialization

The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Applied and Analytical Microbiology, or in single or double Microbiology combined with another specialization from Faculties of Science. The program also accepts Egyptian and international students holding a Bachelor’s degree in one of the biological sciences or biotechnology from Egyptian universities (governmental, national, or private), or from Arab and foreign universities.

Application Period: The Master’s program accepts applications at the beginning of the academic year during the following periods:
September – October
January – February
May – June
Program Duration: Minimum one year and maximum seven years
Credit Hours: 48 credit hours
Program Rationale:
The program is distinguished by its advanced applied courses that meet labor market requirements, including modern courses, some of which are taught for the first time. It provides students with flexibility to direct their academic interests toward different study tracks due to the availability of numerous elective courses. The program qualifies graduates to work in various fields such as pharmaceutical industries, biotechnology, food industries, food safety and quality control, water analysis, medical laboratories, hospitals, and research related to infectious diseases and vaccines. It also covers environmental and agricultural fields, including pollution treatment, waste management, and biological pest control. In addition, it prepares graduates for scientific research, chemical industries, and work in universities and research centers, as well as the development of chemical products, cosmetics, and biofuels using microbial technologies.
Skills Acquired by Graduates:
Mastering advanced laboratory techniques in collecting and analyzing microbial samples and using modern laboratory tools and technologies. Data analysis and scientific research design through applying appropriate statistical methods and conducting experiments and research projects in applied and analytical microbiology. Preparing reports and scientific writing and producing research papers in a professional academic style. Developing communication and teamwork skills through collaboration with specialists, working in multidisciplinary teams, and delivering scientific presentations.
