Admission Requirements

The applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Science in Microbiology from the Faculties of Science or the Faculties of Girls’ Colleges at Egyptian universities (governmental, national, or private), or an equivalent academic qualification from Arab or foreign universities or recognized institutes, in accordance with the general regulations of the bylaws.

Application Period: The program accepts applications at the beginning of the academic year during the following periods:

September – October

January – February

May – June

Program Duration: Minimum one year and maximum seven years

Credit Hours: 48 credit hours

The PhD program in Microbiology aims to prepare highly qualified researchers and specialists with advanced scientific and research competencies, capable of working and leading in specialized research and medical laboratories, research and development centers, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as in the fields of health control, environmental monitoring, food safety, and water safety. The program also equips students with in-depth expertise in modern techniques such as molecular biology, biotechnology, microbiological diagnostics, and advanced laboratory analysis, enabling them to conduct innovative scientific research and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and industrial and medical applications. Furthermore, the program qualifies graduates to work in academic and research institutions and regulatory bodies, and to participate in developing scientific policies and supporting innovation and development in related biological and microbiological sciences.
