Program Rationale
The Parasitology program is strongly connected to medicine, biological sciences, veterinary medicine, public health, and agriculture. It integrates scientific research, practical application, and community and healthcare services.
Its importance is reflected in its relevance to human and animal health, food security, and public health, as many parasitic diseases significantly affect humans and animals, such as schistosomiasis, malaria, leishmaniasis, and toxoplasmosis, giving the field high scientific and societal value.
The program also supports applied scientific research on parasite-borne diseases and outbreaks that require effective control and prevention strategies.
