Graduate Competencies
•Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
•Understand cities as social-ecological systems, including their non-linear and non-deterministic behavior, urban metabolism, and the spatial considerations required for sustainable urban development.
•Identify and analyze the complex interrelationships among urban systems and sectors, such as building construction and energy, water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment, while addressing governance and resource-efficiency challenges.
•Analyze product chains, material cycles, and resource-demand systems, including water, energy, mobility, food supply, and urban design, and assess the potential for local natural resource production within urban environments.
•Conduct interdisciplinary research, integrate specialized knowledge, utilize smart technologies and modeling techniques, and develop innovative solutions to address urban environmental challenges.
•Communicate effectively with both specialist and non-specialist audiences through written and oral presentations.
