Who is eligible to apply for the IWRM Master’s Program at Ain Shams University / Mansoura University and what are the required documents?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to water resources. Application details and procedures will be available on the respective university websites.

    Required Documents:
  • - Original + copy of transcript (grade report)
  • - Original + copy of graduation certificate
  • - Original computerized birth certificate
  • - Copy of national ID card
  • - Four (4) personal photographs

File opening fee: 1,000 EGP

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (BSc or BA) relevant to water-related fields such as engineering, natural sciences, environmental sciences, agriculture, geography, economics, or related areas. Applicants must be enrolled in the IWRM Master’s Program at Ain Shams University or Mansoura University.

Applicants must be registered at ASU or MU and have successfully completed the first semester of the IWRM Master program in Egypt.

- TOEFL iBT: Minimum 79 points (including TOEFL iBT Home version)

- IELTS Academic: Minimum Band 6.0 (including IELTS Indicator)

- Cambridge ESOL: FCE

Note: TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program) is NOT accepted.

- A one-sentence personal understanding of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)

- Motivation for applying to the joint Germany-Egypt program

- Connection to previous education and experience

No, work experience is not required. However, practical experience in Integrated Water Resources Management is highly desirable and will strengthen your application.

Application deadline is 15th September 2025. The deadline is announced every year in advance.

- Applications received after the deadline or with incomplete documentation will not be considered.

- Registration Certificate at Ain Shams University or Mansoura University for the IWRM Master program

- Europass CV (reverse chronological order, no unexplained gaps)

- Motivation Letter (as specified above)

- Letter of Recommendation (from employer or university professor, printed on official letterhead with signature and stamp)

- Proof of English proficiency (not older than 5 years)

- Certified copies of Higher Education degree certificates and translations (if applicable)

- Official Academic Transcripts (with grading system explanation if necessary)

No. Registration in the IWRM Master’s Program at Ain Shams University is mandatory to apply for and be eligible for the DAAD scholarship.

The deadline applies only to the DAAD scholarship application. Registration at Ain Shams University can be found on the official website. However, you must be registered at Ain Shams University to qualify for the DAAD scholarship for exchange

No. The English proficiency requirements (IELTS, TOEFL) mainly apply to the DAAD scholarship application. Registration at Ain Shams University may not require these tests.
