A daughter of Ain Shams University, she has a clear vision that leads her toward progress and achievement, one accomplishment after another. She is Dr. Heba Salah Hamed, Professor of Fish Physiology at the Faculty of Girls of Arts, Sciences, and Education.
In February 2023, Dr. Heba Salah Hamed was awarded the rank of Professor for Academic Excellence, becoming the first professor nationwide to be promoted through the Academic Excellence Track of the Zoology and Entomology Committee, specializing in Fish Physiology. She is also the youngest professor at Ain Shams University under the age of 40.
She has numerous scientific and environmental activities, both locally and internationally, in the fields of climate change and women's issues, in addition to being a scientific reviewer for numerous internationally peer-reviewed scientific journals in her field.

Awards
Prof. Heba Salah has received numerous awards and honors, most notably: winning the "Best Researcher Award" from the Pencis International Foundation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 14, 2021, in the field of science, medicine, and technology for young researchers under 40 years of age. This award was based on a collection of international research papers published in internationally peer-reviewed journals in their field of specialization, Q1, published by Elsevier. In the same year, she received the Ain Shams University Encouragement Award in the field of advanced technological sciences in the field of agricultural sciences. In the same year, she received the Best Researcher Award from the International Research Awards.
She also received the "Best Female Personality in the Arab World for 2022" award from the HerNews Foundation, as part of the Arab-African Forum competition. She was also honored with the "Giving Medal" as one of the 20 most influential female figures in the Arab world, on the sidelines of the "Women's Role in Facing the Challenges of the Age" conference in January 2019.
She also received the Oscar Award for Best Arab Female University Professor in Science for the year 2019/2020 from the Arab Women's Media Network, in addition to the Dr. Makram Mehani Award for Scientific Creativity (Life Sciences) in February 2019 from the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center. She was also honored with the "Giving Medal" as one of the 20 most influential female figures in the Arab world, as part of the "Women's Role in Facing the Challenges of the Age" conference in January 2019.
In 2023, she received the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment Award, presented by the same union, for her overall scientific output in the field of "Environment and Sustainable Development." This regional award is granted to a member of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment for her overall scientific output in the field of "Environment and Sustainable Development."
In 2024, she received the Most Influential Woman in Egyptian Society Award, presented by the General Authority for Cultural Palaces at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in the field of science. Her most recent award, in 2025, was the Yousef bin Saeed Lootah Award for Young Scientists 2024, under the supervision of the Association of Arab Universities. It was presented by the Yousef bin Saeed Lootah Investment Group (UAE) under the supervision of the Association of Arab Universities, in the field of the circular economy. The Yousef bin Saeed Lootah Award for Young Scientists is the first Arab award specialized in the fields of the circular economy, renewable energy, and green chemistry. It aims to support young scientists and motivate them to be creative and innovative in the fields of sustainable development.

International Publishing
As for international publishing, she has received numerous honors from the President of Ain Shams University for excellence in international scientific publishing in her field of specialization from 2017 to January 2023. She has published approximately 37 research papers in international journals and supervised several master's and doctoral theses.
She was selected for a scientific mission to Huazhong University, China, in 2016 to attend the Egyptian-Chinese Joint Research Forum in Agricultural Sciences and Technology.
Dr. Heba Salah's winning of these awards reflects her distinguished scientific efforts in developing fish physiology, which has led to her being selected as a scientific reviewer for several international publishing houses specializing in this field.
This comes in addition to her prominent role and effective contributions as an influential female figure in serving the environment and community development. She is a member of the UNESCO-affiliated Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), a member of the Scientific Research Committee of the Arab Union for Specialized Women, a member of the Women and Community Development Committee of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment, a member of the Association for Women in Science in Developing Countries (Egypt), and a member of the Egyptian Scientists Syndicate.
