Polish Ambassador to Cairo Makes Historic Visit to the Faculty of Al-Alsun to Explore Academic and Cultural Cooperation and Promote the Polish Language

In a first-of-its-kind visit to the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University, Prof. Yomna Safwat, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed H.E. Ambassador Michał Murkociński, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Egypt, accompanied by his wife and delegation. The visit was attended by Prof. Dina Mohamed Abdo, Head of the Russian Language Department and Supervisor of the Faculty's Polish Language Program.

The visit focused on exploring ways to strengthen cooperation in supporting the teaching and promotion of the Polish language. The Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University is the only academic institution among Egyptian universities offering Polish language studies through its program supervised by the Russian Language Department. This reflects the faculty’s commitment to diversifying language specializations and strengthening cultural and academic relations between Egypt and Poland.

During the visit, the Polish Ambassador delivered a seminar to students studying Polish at the Faculty. He discussed career opportunities available to Polish language graduates, particularly in the tourism sector and economic projects. He also explored scholarship opportunities and student exchange programs that could enhance cooperation between Egyptian and Polish universities and open new avenues for academic and cultural engagement.

The visit also included a tour of the faculty’s facilities, including classrooms, educational resources, and modern equipment. The Ambassador expressed his great appreciation for the faculty’s distinguished academic standards, well-equipped classrooms, and supportive learning environment.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Polish Ambassador expressed his aspiration for further scientific and cultural cooperation between Egypt and Poland, strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries and creating broader opportunities for academic exchange and the promotion of the Polish language.
