The Education and Student Affairs Sector Strengthens Partnership with Baseera Foundation…the Disability Student Services Center Continues Its Efforts to Support Blind and Visually Impaired Students

As part of the efforts of Ain Shams University’s Education and Student Affairs Sector to enhance accessibility and ensure equal opportunities for students with disabilities, the Disability Student Services Center, in cooperation with the Baseera Foundation, organized a training session for blind and visually impaired students on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with the participation of a number of blind and visually impaired students. The session was held as part of the cooperation between the two institutions to support students with visual disabilities, identify their needs, and enhance their access to and benefit from the services provided to them.

The training session was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with administrative coordination by the Education and Student Affairs Sector, under the supervision and coordination of Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for Education and Student Affairs, and the supervision of Dr. Samar Ragab Hafez, Director of the Disability Student Services Center. The session was conducted with the participation of Dr. Doaa Mahmoud Zaki, a specialist in visual disabilities at the Center, and the Center’s team, in cooperation with the Baseera Foundation.

The training session included diagnostic assessments and evaluations of participating students to identify their needs and determine the most appropriate forms of support. These assessments aim to ensure that suitable services and accommodations are provided to each student, enhancing their opportunities to benefit from training programs and specialized services.

This collaboration builds on the ongoing efforts of the Education and Student Affairs Sector and the Disability Student Services Center to strengthen partnerships with specialized institutions and develop services provided to students with disabilities. These efforts aim to uphold students’ rights, address their individual needs, promote their independence, and enhance their active participation in university life.
