Residents of Halayeb, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad Turn Out to Benefit from Comprehensive Development Convoy Organized by Ain Shams University and Tahya Misr Fund
Ain Shams University, in collaboration with Tahya Misr Fund, continues its comprehensive development convoy for the second consecutive day, providing medical, educational, and developmental services to residents of Halayeb, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad in the Red Sea Governorate. The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to community service and its efforts to extend essential services to underserved areas. The convoy is held under the patronage of Dr. Walid Abdel Azeem El-Borqy, Governor of the Red Sea; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; and Mr. Tamer Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of Tahya Misr Fund.
The convoy’s activities are supervised by Mr. Mohamed El-Gammal, Head of the Central Administration of the University President’s Sector at Ain Shams University, and Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Education and Student Affairs.
The convoy’s medical clinics have witnessed a steady turnout of residents seeking healthcare services across a wide range of specialties, including internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), orthopedics, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology, neurology, and surgery. Services also include minor surgical procedures, endoscopy, laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and dental care, with essential medications provided free of charge through the convoy’s pharmacy.
As part of its commitment to community awareness, the convoy organized educational seminars for female students across different school grades. The sessions focused on promoting digital and social awareness, encouraging positive behaviors, raising awareness of the safe and responsible use of mobile phones and social media platforms, and highlighting the risks of online exploitation.
The seminars also addressed mother-daughter relationships, the dangers of bullying, and various social challenges, helping students develop greater awareness and the skills needed to respond positively to societal challenges.
The convoy’s activities also extended to veterinary awareness, educating residents about the importance of regular animal immunizations and vaccinations, ways to prevent diseases transmissible between animals and humans, and common diseases affecting livestock, sheep, and goats, along with methods for their early detection.
The veterinary awareness sessions covered proper animal nutrition and healthcare, the importance of hygiene and disinfection in animal shelters, safe breeding and housing practices, and appropriate management of animal births and reproduction. These efforts aim to protect livestock resources and improve animal care practices.
Meanwhile, the distribution of food packages to residents in the targeted areas continues as part of the convoy’s efforts to provide an integrated range of medical, educational, and social services, improve quality of life, and support vulnerable communities.
The convoy is scheduled to continue providing its diverse services to residents of Halayeb, Shalateen, and Abu Ramad until Thursday, October 15, with the participation of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, Ain Shams University Hospitals, and the university’s Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Agriculture, and Mass Communication. This collaboration highlights the integration of expertise across different disciplines and the effective utilization of human and scientific resources, reaffirming the commitment of Ain Shams University and Tahya Misr Fund to advancing community development and ensuring that comprehensive services reach those most in need across Egypt.
