The seminar began with the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by a screening of a selection of documentaries about the October War, accompanied by victory songs in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

Prof. Heba Shaheen welcomed Major General Nabil Abu El-Naga and introduced students to highlights from his biography. She emphasized the importance of educating younger generations about their nation’s history and learning from the experiences of the heroes of the October War, noting that understanding history helps young people face future challenges.

She also stressed that commemorating the October Victory sends an important message to those who seek to threaten Egypt throughout the ages, reaffirming Egypt’s enduring ability to safeguard its territory and sovereignty and deter any attempt to undermine them. She further emphasized the importance of confidence in the nation and the capabilities of its people.

During the seminar, a documentary was screened about the Commando Forces and the rigorous training undertaken by their personnel. The film also featured the operation “Journey to Hell,” known as the “Impossible Mission,” highlighting one of the heroic missions carried out by the Armed Forces’ Commando Forces during the glorious October War.

In his address, Major General Nabil Abu El-Naga emphasized the important role of Egyptian women and mothers and the need to respect their status. He highlighted their vital role in raising aware generations that understand the value of their homeland, remain deeply connected to it, and recognize the importance of protecting and defending it.

He also explained the October War plan using maps, outlining the attempts by Commando Forces personnel to penetrate deep into Sinai, maneuver behind enemy lines, and secure the troops who had crossed to the eastern bank of the Suez Canal. He discussed the six attempts, which involved airborne and naval landings as well as ground infiltration behind enemy lines. He also explained the challenges faced by the Commando Forces while carrying out these missions and the distances they covered to reach their targets and accomplish their objectives.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Prof. Heba Shaheen honored Major General Nabil Abu El-Naga and presented him with the faculty’s shield in recognition of his distinguished national record as one of the heroes of the glorious October War.
