Ain Shams University Opens Nominations for its 2026 Appreciation, Pioneers, Women’s Appreciation, and Incentive Awards
Ain Shams University has announced the opening of nominations for its 2026 annual awards, including the University Appreciation Awards, Incentive Awards, Pioneers Award, and Women’s Appreciation Award, under the patronage of Prof. Amany Osama Kamel, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Graduate Studies and Research. The awards reflect the University’s continued efforts to support excellence and innovation and recognize distinguished scientific and academic contributions.
The awards underscore Ain Shams University’s commitment to motivating faculty members and teaching assistants, promoting excellence in scientific research and innovation, and fostering academic competition in support of the University’s academic and research standing.
The awards and nomination requirements are as follows:
First: Ain Shams University Appreciation Award
The University Appreciation Award is granted to faculty members with a distinguished school of thought, innovative published research, and tangible contributions to the University and the nation. Applicants must have held the rank of professor for at least five years.
The University offers 17 Appreciation Awards across eight fields, as follows:
• Medical Sciences: 3 awards
• Engineering Sciences: 2 awards
• Architecture: 1 award
• Technological Sciences: 2 awards
• Educational Sciences: 1 award
• Basic Sciences: 3 awards
• Social Sciences: 4 awards
• Agricultural Sciences: 1 award
Each University Appreciation Award carries a cash prize of EGP 100,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
Second: Ain Shams University Pioneers Award
Ain Shams University grants the Pioneers Award to distinguished University scholars who have held the rank of professor at the University for at least ten years, have made pioneering contributions in their fields of specialization, and have contributed to foundational initiatives at the community and national levels.
The University offers six Pioneers Awards, one in each of the following fields:
• Basic Sciences
• Agricultural Sciences
• Medical Sciences
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Engineering Sciences
• Educational Sciences
Each award carries a cash prize of EGP 75,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
Third: Ain Shams University Women’s Appreciation Award
In recognition of women’s role within the Ain Shams University community, the University has established the Women’s Appreciation Award.
The University offers four Women’s Appreciation Awards, one in each of the following fields:
• Applied Sciences (Engineering / Technology / Environmental Sciences)
• Medical Sciences
• Basic / Agricultural Sciences
• Humanities (Social Sciences, Arts, Education, and Fine Arts)
Each award carries a cash prize of EGP 30,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
Fourth: Ain Shams University Incentive Award
Ain Shams University offers its 2026 Incentive Awards to young researchers who are no older than 40 as of December 31, 2026. The awards are open to teaching assistants and assistant lecturers, as well as lecturers and associate professors at the University who have published at least five research papers in their fields of specialization, in addition to scientific activities and community contributions.
The University offers 10 Incentive Awards across five fields, as follows:
• Basic Sciences (2 awards): one award in the various fields of basic sciences and one in advanced technological sciences serving the basic sciences.
• Agricultural Sciences (2 awards): one award in the various fields of agricultural sciences and one in advanced technological sciences serving agricultural sciences.
• Medical Sciences (2 awards): one award in the various fields of medical sciences and one in advanced technological sciences serving medical sciences.
• Engineering Sciences (2 awards): one award in the various fields of engineering sciences and one in advanced technological sciences serving engineering sciences.
• Social Sciences and Humanities (2 awards).
Each University Incentive Award carries a cash prize of EGP 25,000 and a certificate of appreciation.

• A recent employment status statement confirming that the nominee has no disciplinary penalties.
• Justification for nomination.
• An officially approved nomination letter from the faculty.

Nomination File Submission Deadlines
The deadline for submitting complete and officially approved nomination files received from the University’s faculties is Thursday, December 17, 2026, at the General Administration of Scientific Research, Administration Building, behind Zafaran Palace.
The final closing date for nominations for all University awards is Thursday, December 31, 2026.
