On International Translation Day…Faculty of Al-Alsun Celebrates a New International Achievement as Ms. Karima Mohsen Receives an Honorable Mention in the St. Jerome Translation Contest
In celebration of International Translation Day, the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shams University has continued to strengthen its distinguished presence on the international stage, as Ms. Karima Mohsen, Assistant Lecturer at the Department of English Language, received an Honorable Mention in the 17th edition of the St. Jerome Translation Contest (17th St. Jerome Translation Contest), organized by the United Nations Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (UN DGACM) at the UN Headquarters in New York.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Al-Alsun – Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Youmna Safwat, Dean of the Faculty, together with the Faculty Vice Deans, faculty members, junior academic staff, and administrative staff, extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Karima Mohsen in recognition of this achievement, which reflects the academic excellence, linguistic proficiency, and translation expertise of the Faculty’s staff and demonstrates their ability to compete and excel at specialized international forums.
The St. Jerome Translation Contest is an international competition that provides outstanding translators with an opportunity to showcase their linguistic and professional skills. Participants include translators from the United Nations translation services, as well as students and graduates of partner universities.
In another achievement reflecting the strong presence of Al-Alsun graduates at international events, Hana Adel Ahmed, a graduate of the Credit-Hour Interpreting Program at the Department of English Language and holder of a postgraduate diploma in interpreting from the Department’s postgraduate program, was selected to volunteer as an interpreter for the event.
The Faculty of Al-Alsun expressed its pride in the academic and professional achievements of its students and graduates at various forums, noting that such accomplishments reflect the success of its academic mission to prepare highly qualified specialists in languages and translation who possess the skills required to compete and excel in international professional environments.
The faculty extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Karima Mohsen on this international achievement and to Hana Adel Ahmed on her selection to participate in interpreting the event, wishing them continued success and further excellence in a manner befitting the distinguished standing of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Ain Shams University.
