Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, inaugurated the 14th Universities Youth Week, hosted by Minia University from September 25 to 30, 2026, under the slogan “From the Heart of Upper Egypt, We Create,” with student delegations from universities across Egypt taking part.

The opening ceremony was attended by Major General Imad Ahmed Mahmoud Kedwany, Governor of Minia; Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University; Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities; Prof. Essam Farahat, President of Minia University; and a number of presidents of Egyptian universities and higher education leaders.

Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, affirmed the university’s commitment to active participation in this youth and student event, which brings together students from Egyptian universities across the country. He noted that the activities offer an important opportunity to develop students’ skills and abilities and strengthen their sense of belonging and fair competition. He also emphasized that Ain Shams University gives special attention to youth development, recognizing young people as a cornerstone in building the nation’s future.

Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, said that Ain Shams University is taking part in the various activities and events of Universities Youth Week with an active student delegation. He affirmed the university’s commitment to providing all forms of support for student activities and young talent, helping prepare a generation capable of competing and excelling in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sports fields.

Ain Shams University is participating in Universities Youth Week through its Education and Student Affairs Sector and the General Administration for Youth Welfare, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El Abidin, President of the University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

Overall supervision and administrative coordination are being provided by Mr. Ibrahim Said Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for the Education and Student Affairs Sector. Coordination is also being handled by Prof. Yehia Mostafa, Professor at the Faculty of Specific Education and the University’s coordinator for Universities Youth Week, and Ms. Asmaa Khater, Acting Director-General of the General Administration for Youth Welfare.

Ain Shams University students are taking part in a range of competitions and activities spanning sports, culture, arts, social activities, science, and scouting. These provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity, develop their skills and abilities, and strengthen the values of teamwork and positive competition.

Egyptian Universities Youth Week is one of the country’s leading youth and student gatherings. It provides a platform for competition, knowledge-sharing, and interaction among students. Its activities also help strengthen connections among university students and promote cooperation, belonging, participation, and responsibility.
