Ain Shams University continued its outstanding performance at the 12th African University Games “Cairo 2026,” as its athletes secured three medals in the judo competitions, one gold and two bronzes, reflecting the high level of competition and the excellence of the University’s students on the African stage.

Farida Magdy Abu El-Azaim claimed first place and the gold medal in the women’s under-78 kg category, while Yasmine Ahmed Mohamed secured third place and the bronze medal in the women’s under-63 kg category.

Habiba Yasser Mohamed also won third place and a bronze medal in the women’s under-78 kg category.

These results add to the series of achievements by Ain Shams University students throughout “Cairo 2026,” highlighting the athletes’ outstanding sporting abilities, strong competitive spirit, and determination to represent their university with distinction and reach the podium.

This achievement comes as part of Ain Shams University’s participation in the 12th African University Games “Cairo 2026,” represented by the Education and Student Affairs Sector and the General Administration of Youth Welfare, Sports Activities Department, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Rami Maher Ghali, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.

The University’s participation is coordinated and administratively supervised by Mr. Ibrahim Saeed Hamza, Assistant Secretary-General for the Education and Student Affairs Sector.

These results reflect Ain Shams University’s commitment to supporting sports activities and identifying and nurturing student talent, contributing to the development of a generation of students capable of competing at various sporting events and raising the University’s profile at local, continental, and international championships.
