Ain Shams University Issues Clarification Regarding Reports on the Faculty of Women’s Tuition Fees

Ain Shams University has been following reports circulated on some social media pages regarding tuition fees of EGP 20,000 at the Faculty of Women for Arts, Science and Education, along with information that may have created the impression that these fees had been imposed on students already enrolled in the faculty’s bachelor’s or licentiate programs.

In the interest of clarifying the facts, the University confirms that the EGP 20,000 fee in question does not apply to regularly enrolled undergraduate students pursuing bachelor’s or licentiate degrees. Rather, it pertains to the Higher Qualifications System, which is intended for women who already hold a bachelor’s or licentiate degrees from the Faculty of Women or another faculty and who voluntarily wish to enroll in the faculty to obtain an additional university degree.

Applicants under this system are admitted in accordance with the applicable regulations and following the necessary academic credit equivalency assessment. They are then required to complete the prescribed courses and years of study, including the full third and fourth academic years, in accordance with the established rules.

Accordingly, this pathway is not an extension of regular undergraduate enrollment and does not constitute an increase in tuition fees imposed on students already enrolled at the faculty. Rather, it is an independent and optional academic pathway for those wishing to obtain an additional university qualification.

Ain Shams University also confirms that students enrolled in bachelor’s or licentiate programs, excluding those under the Higher Qualifications System, remain eligible for the financial support, social assistance, and fee reduction programs offered by the University and its faculties, in accordance with the applicable rules and conditions, taking social circumstances into consideration and supporting eligible students.

The University urges everyone to verify the accuracy of any information concerning tuition fees or academic systems before sharing it and to refer to the official sources of the University and the Faculty for accurate information, to avoid causing unnecessary concern among students and their families.

Ain Shams University reaffirms that supporting its students and safeguarding their interests remain among its highest priorities, alongside full compliance with the regulations and rules governing the educational process.
